
Association of Public Health Engineers Nagaland (APHEN) held its 5th general conference at IMC hall, Dimapur on February 22.
A press release from APHEN joint secretary, Er. Ichirang Zeliang, stated that principal secretary, PHED, M. K Mero, graced the occasion as special guest, and spoke of the challenge to implement Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship programme to provide functional household tap connection to every rural household by the year 2024.
He also encouraged the members to rededicate in work and be active participants in the association as well as in the department.
Delivering the presidential address, Er. P Khetoi Sema, acknowledged pioneer members of the association for rendering good service in strengthening the association and also for various initiatives undertaken for welfare of the officers and the department in particular. He further stressed on expansion of department for creation of new posts for efficient and smooth functioning at various levels and that association should continue to pursue pertinent issues.
Chief engineer, PHED, Er. Repangyangba Longkumer, reminded members of the responsibility being water engineers and the challenge faced by technical staff in implementing any water supply schemes.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by general secretary, APHEN, Er. N Yanger Pongen and words of gratitude by executive member, APHEN, Er. Kitoshe Aye. New team of officer bearers was also elected for the tenure 2020-23, led by Er. Leyang.
