Excise deptt continues raid

Continuing its effort to check the illegal inflow of liquor, the state excise department comprising of the narcoti cell, mobile squad and district excise Dimapur conducted raids along the National Highway-29 areas, Signal Bosti and Industrial Village areas on February 26, 2020.

In a press release, commissioner of excise, Tarep Imchen, stated that the teams during the raids seized 1047 bottles of assorted IMFL and three arrested persons, who were penalized under the relevant section of the NLTP Act 1989. 
On the same day, 120 bottles of IMFL was recovered from the possession of a passenger of a taxi at Excise Check gate, Chumoukedima, said commissioner of excise.
He said that all check gate surveillance have been heightened and alerted for any untoward incidents involving inter-state and intra-state smuggling and trafficking of contrabands.
