Lok Sabha MP, S. Supongmeren Jamir, chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Wokha, on Friday.
According to DIPR report, the meeting reviewed the status of centrally sponsored schemes and addressed challenges faced by departments in the district.
Supongmeren highlighted DISHA’s role in maintaining transparency and effective monitoring of developmental projects. He raised concerns about delayed execution, irregular fund flow and stressed better delivery of schemes, especially those meant for farmers.
Departments shared various presentations during the meeting. PHED reported on the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), while noting obstacles affecting progress. DRDA gave updates on rural infrastructure projects, and the Urban Development Department shared details of PMAY-Urban implementation in Wokha and Bhandari. Updates on PMGSY were also presented.
Agriculture department flagged the absence of cold storage facilities as a major constraint, while the Horticulture department shared its ongoing activities and challenges in the field.
The meeting concluded with a shared appeal for enhanced support from central ministries to ensure sufficient funding. Supongmeren reaffirmed DISHA’s commitment to coordinated governance and effective implementation of projects.
