Three NCP councillors merge with NDPP in Tening Town

DIMAPUR

In a major political development, three councillors of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) from Tening Town Council, Peren District, have officially merged with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) on July 10.
The merger took place in the presence of senior NDPP leaders including Harwetlang Kenn, president NDPP Peren Region; Kacham, general secretary; Itwa Haikube, vice president; Haigum Iheilung, youth president; and Ziekuidi Zeliang, central secretary.
The councillors—Mairisibo Rengmunta, Rambin, and Nchikam—resigned from all roles in NCP and joined NDPP voluntarily to extend their support to Namri Nchang, MLA of 6th Tening Assembly Constituency.
They stated that the decision was made to strengthen development and good governance under Nchang’s leadership. The Councillors also expressed confidence in NDPP president Chingwang Konyak and chief minister Neiphiu Rio, pledging to work for the growth of the constituency and the party.
