Short circuit sparks fire in Dimapur; 1 family affected

A fire incident was reported around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at Oriental Colony (Lotha Colony), Dimapur, believed to have been caused by a short circuit.
The affected structure was a kutcha house, which was partially damaged by the blaze. One family residing in the house was directly impacted, though no injuries or casualties were reported.
Upon receiving the emergency alert, two water tenders from West Fire Station and one from Central Fire Station were promptly dispatched to the location. Firefighters managed to control and douse the flames within 27 minutes.
Officials have estimated the property damage to be around Rs. 30,000. The swift action of the fire department helped prevent further damage and loss. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and ensure electrical safety measures, especially in densely populated areas.
