After a three-year break, the highly anticipated Miss Mokokchung beauty pageant is making a grand return on tuesday at Town Hall Mokokchung. Organized by the Forerunners Mokokchung under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Art & Culture Council (MDACC), the event promises an evening of glamour, culture, and artistry.
In a press conference held at Whispering Winds Hotel, organizers revealed that the pageant will feature three rounds: ethnic wear, designer cocktail, and evening gown—crafted by designers HM Hmingmawhii from Meghalaya and Manen Jamir. Altogether, 13 participants will don and display the costumes during the event.
The show will include performances by Mezanuo Ngukha, Moko Koza, Tiameren Aier, the Mokokchung Dance Community, Class of Music and others. Judges for the evening include Akshatha Das (Femina Miss India Kerala 2024) and Chanchui Kayi (Femina Miss India Manipur 2024).
This year’s edition also features a special Tribute Runway honoring Ao beauty queens since 1992. Directed by Neitho Khamo, the event begins at 6:00 PM. Tickets will be available at the venue gates.
Organizers shared that the early scheduling aims to allow ample preparation time for the upcoming Miss Nagaland finale.
