SBCK holds pre-centenary jubilee of Christian Education Department

Sumi Baptist Church Kohima (SBCK) celebrated the Pre-Centenary Jubilee of its Christian Education Department, honouring its commitment to nurturing children and youth through Sunday school ministry.
Rev. Dr. Kiyeto Sema, Senior Pastor of Sumi Aphuyeni Baptist Church Kohima, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the lasting impact of Christian teachings on society. He encouraged youths, elders and parents to take active roles as Sunday school teachers and strengthen the children’s ministry.
Chairman of the Centenary Planning Board, Y. Kikheto Sema, said this is the first jubilee celebration of the department and was included to honour past pioneers and current teachers. He recalled the contribution of late Luveto Shohe, who served as the first Sunday school supervisor from 1981 to 1989.
He added that the department was formally established in 2012 under Associate Pastor Dr. L Botoholi Yeptho, while the Pre-Centenary initiative was carried forward under Associate Pastor Piokali Sema.
Greeting messages were delivered by Lukheto Yeptho, Chairman of Board of Deacons. Certificates were distributed to pioneers and current Sunday school teachers. Special performances and a message by Dr. L Botoholi Yeptho marked the evening session.
