Various organisations have expressed grief over the demise of former Sumi Hoho president and former chairman of Sümi Literature Board, Dr. Hokishe Yepthomi, who passed away on Monday at Eden Hospital, Dimapur.
WSH: Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) president and colleagues, in a condolence message, expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Dr. Hokishe Yepthomi.
WSH described him as a towering figure in Sümi society and a deeply respected leader across the Naga community.
WSH stated that his life was marked by principled leadership, visionary guidance and tireless service to the people. A champion of unity, culture and justice, WSH said his contributions left a lasting impact on the collective identity of the community.
His passing, WSH said, was a tremendous loss not just to his family, but to the Sümi and Naga communities at large. WSH conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grant eternal rest to his soul.
NGBF: Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) said it was saddened to learn about the demise of a veteran Naga leader Dr. Hokishe Yepthomi.
NGBF said he was one of the most senior leaders among the Sümi community and the Nagas in general, and a man of principle and integrity. NGBF said Dr. Yepthomi always encouraged the GB institution and supported its initiatives, especially the Naga political issue. Stating that his demise was a great loss, NGBF conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
KYK: Kulolau Yeputhomi Kuposhukulu (KYK) expressed deep pain over the passing of Dr. Hokishe Yepthomi.
KYK chairman Aheto Yepthomi and secretary Otoka H. Yepthomi said Dr. Yepthomi was a dedicated public leader, educator and champion of the people whose remarkable leadership and contributions to various organisations including Sumi Hoho, Sümi Literature Board, church associations and school education, would continue to inspire generations.
KYK said his demise has left a void but his legacy would endure through the countless lives he touched. KYK conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that his soul rest in eternal peace.
