Organising committee of Dr. T. Ao Trophy 2025 calls on CM

KOHIMA, JUL 29 (NPN)

The Organising Committee of the 24th edition of the Dr. T. Ao Trophy Inter-District Football Championship 2025 called on Nagaland chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday to brief him on the preparations for the forthcoming tournament.
The delegation was led by convener and MLA Kevipodi, co-convener and MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Henok Buchem, president of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) Neibou Sekhose, and president of the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) Mathew Yhome.
During the meeting held at the chief minister’s office, Dr. Rio was apprised of the logistical and organisational arrangements in place for the championship. The chief minister reviewed the updates and conveyed his support and best wishes to the organisers, players, and officials involved.
Later, the chief minister shared through social media platform X that he had met and interacted with representatives from the NFA, KDFA, and the organising team of the 24th Dr. T. Ao Trophy. He extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the championship and encouraged the participating teams.
The prestigious inter-district football tournament is being organised by the Nagaland Football Association and hosted by the Kohima District Football Association. The event is being powered by the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Kohima.
According to the organisers, a total of 17 districts will compete for the title. The tournament will take place at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, from August 1 to 15, 2025.
