Over ₹45 crore will be disbursed to registered farmers in Tripura under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) on August 2, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced.
Addressing the media, Nath stated that a total of ₹45.43 crore will be directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts at 11 AM on Friday. The fund transfer is expected to be initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a national-level event in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
Simultaneously, a state-level gathering will be held at the State Agriculture Research Station in AD Nagar, Agartala, where Minister Nath will join farmers to listen to the Prime Minister’s address.
Nath emphasized that the financial support reflects a collaborative effort between the Centre and the state government to uplift the agricultural sector. He reiterated the government’s commitment to rural development and improving the livelihoods of farmers across Tripura.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal instalments, aimed at easing financial burdens and encouraging sustainable farming practices.
