NU organises youth parliament and debate competition

DIMAPUR

Nagaland University (NU) as part of Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program, organised the youth parliament & debate competition on August 1.
In a press release by NU PRO, informed that, NU Finance Officer, Albert Khizho, graced the occasion as chief guest. In attendance were Head of the dept of Political Science, Prof. Dasarathi Bhuiyan, along with committee members Dr. Likhase Sangtam (chairperson), Dr. Monalisa Tase (member), Dr. Tiasunep (point of contact for Zunheboto District), Dr. Neizhanuo Golmei (nodal faculty) and Peter Ki (nodal officer).
The inaugural session attended by faculty, officers, and students, short speeches were delivered by Dr. Likhase Sangtam, Albert Khizho, and Prof. Prof. Dasarathi Bhuiyan.
About 40 students discussed and debated on the topic of “Emergency Period in India”. The panel of judges consisted of Asst. Professor, Dept of Polical Science, Dr. Monalisa Tase,
Asst. Professor, Dept of Political Science, Dr. Deepak Bhaskar, and Asst. Professor, Dept of Sociology, Dr. Suraj Beri.
The winners for the Youth Parliamentarian categories were Mengo Neangbo, Neizokhonuo and Moamongba Jamir, while for the Debate Competition the winners were Imsu Waden Ozukum and Ilihima H. Yepthomi. The winners will go on to compete at the District Level, and if they win, progress to the State Level competition.
