The installation programme for the new office bearers of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Tseminyu Region (2024–2027 tenure) was held at Tseminyu Town Hall on August 2.
Addressing the gathering, former minister and CEC member of NDPP, R. Khing, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for granting full-fledged district status to the Rengma community. He urged party workers and leaders to uphold firmness and loyalty, while emphasising NDPP’s role in reshaping the district under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and party president Chingwang Konyak.
The oath of allegiance and formal introduction of new office bearers was administered by Benjamin Lorin, vice president of CEB NDPP and convenor of the Election Committee, Tseminyu Region.
Daniel Tep was announced as president of NDPP Tseminyu Region, with Isaac Apon as working president and Yhuntilo Kent as general secretary. For the Women Organisation, Khwehile Kent will serve as president and Lucy Khing as working president, while the Youth Organisation will be led by president Sokenye Kent and working president Khwenzenlo Magh.
Short speeches were delivered by president-elect Daniel Tep and Hyusin Thyu, general secretary of Agri & Allied Organisation NDPP Central.
The programme was chaired by John Wanth, general secretary, CEB NDPP. Welcome address was delivered by Sokenye Kent, president, Youth Organisation NDPP, Tseminyu Region, and vote of thanks by Isaac Apon, working president NDPP, Tseminyu Region.
