As part of the ongoing capacity-building and orientation programme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0, a team of three experts from the State Level Technical Cell (SLTC), Nagaland, conducted a week-long outreach initiative across seven towns in Nagaland. The mission aimed to engage with stakeholders and enhance understanding of the mission’s objectives and implementation strategies.
According to a press release issued by the state level nodal agency, The expert team, comprising Nchumthung Ovung (IEC Expert), Neitho Usou (Data Management Expert), and Er. Arika Achumi (Engineering Expert), visited Medziphema, Bhandari, Dimapur, East Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Peren, and Tening. The initiative was designed to sensitize Urban Local Body (ULB) officials, Councillors, and other stakeholders on the mission’s components, project execution strategies, beneficiary outreach, and inter-departmental coordination.
A joint session was held on July 23 for Dimapur, East Dimapur, and Chümoukedima, which saw the participation of Temjenrenla Kechu, State Mission Director for PMAY-U and Joint Director & HoD of the Municipal Affairs Department. She provided valuable insights into the PMAY-U 2.0 Mission, emphasizing the importance of urban housing for all and the need for collaborative governance to ensure the success of the initiative.
The participation and engagement from all the ULBs were encouraging, reflecting a strong commitment to the successful implementation of PMAY-U 2.0 across the State. The team will also be covering the remaining ULBs in the coming days as part of its continued efforts to strengthen the mission’s outreach and ensure consistent understanding and implementation at the local level.
