Kartys Digital Academy celebrates first graduation

Kartys Digital Academy, Dimapur, hosted its maiden graduation ceremony on Monday, marking a key milestone in digital learning and the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Nagaland.
Gracing the occasion as chief guest, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Nagaland Post, Geoffrey Yaden, emphasized that while AI excites many, mistrust persists due to fears of job displacement. “Machines can never do what human minds can do. The fear that AI will take away our jobs is rooted in ignorance—a very fatal mindset,” he stated. He maintained that such thinking could hinder Nagas from progressing.
While acknowledging Nagaland’s late entry into the AI landscape, Yaden expressed optimism that interest is steadily growing among both youth and older generations. He underscored the value of resilience and focus over talent alone, saying, “Problems make us more confident when we face it.”
Citing the progress made by other states, he praised Kartys Digital Academy’s efforts in establishing a strong digital foundation in Dimapur and urged the academy to extend its reach to interior districts, describing them as rich in untapped talent.
“We cannot go on losing decades chasing mythical ideas,” Yaden said, adding, “States that received statehood after Nagaland have gone far ahead.” He also stressed that AI does not operate on quotas and called on Nagas to shed the “entitlement” mindset.
Yaden assured full support to the academy and encouraged youth to break free from over-dependence on the government, stating that such dependency had stifled entrepreneurship in the state.
Earlier, the event was chaired by Merensenla, with invocation by ICSSR Post-Doctoral Researcher Dr. Fr. Obed Yimchunger. Founder & CEO of Kartys Digital Academy, Sagar Ramula, delivered the welcome address. The programme featured certificate presentations to 11 graduating students, reflections from valedictorian Merenli Ozukum, and vote of thanks by Co-founder & COO, Jungshi Jamir.
