Das also highlighted various government schemes, scholarships, and educational opportunities related to the handloom sector, encouraging students to pursue it as a career and promote its value in their communities.
Principal of Little Daffodils HSS, Hector Sangma, expressed appreciation for hosting the initiative and emphasized that handloom is a craft practised by both men and women. He reminded students of the importance of supporting indigenous products and maintaining a connection to their cultural roots.
The programme featured diverse student-centric activities including essay writing, paper design, a quiz competition, traditional attire contests for both male and female students, and Bandhani (tie and dye) sample-making. Winners were awarded for their performances.
