IMD predicts rainfall in NE

DIMAPUR, AUG 7 (NPN)

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD has predicted widespread rainfall activity with isolated to heavy rainfall across the North East.
According to IMD, light/moderate rainfall at many places accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and isolated heavy rainfall likely to continue over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during August 8-12. IMD said that extremely heavy rainfall was likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh on August 8.
Meanwhile, the heavy monsoon over Uttarakhand has relented to some extent even as the extremely heavy rain regime has shifted to East and North-East India on Thursday.
