DPDB meetings held across districts; review development agendas

Dimapur

District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings for Chumoukedima, Kiphire, and Meluri districts were held on August 11 to deliberate on key developmental proposals and departmental updates.
According to DIPR report, in Chumoukedima, the monthly DPDB meeting was held at the Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Polan John. DPDB chairman and advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, welcomed members and emphasized active participation and accountability. He urged the DC to monitor member attendance, noting its relevance to APAR assessments.
Following a review of the previous minutes, the Board recommended several proposals including: change of location for Millers Mission School from Unity Village to Diezephe Village; introduction of Commerce stream at GHSS Singrijan; upgradation of Government Middle School Khriezephe to Government High School and proposal for construction of District Employment Exchange Office
The proposal for an Excise Department Office was deferred to the next meeting. A PowerPoint presentation was delivered by District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Nikito Zhimomi, highlighting child welfare initiatives and data tracking mechanisms. The Agriculture Department will present in the next session.
In Kiphire, the DPDB meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman Temsuwati Longkumer, at the DC’s Conference Hall. New member I. Chuba Aier, District Education Officer, was introduced. The DC briefed members on the upcoming Independence Day celebration, to be graced by Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton.
EAC (HQ) Takatemjen Pongen, urged departments to submit She-Box IC details and explained the setup process. Superintendent of Police Chinese Chakhesang spoke on safeguarding the district from drug influx, child trafficking, and abuse. ADC Longdiba L. Sangtam, announced a mass social work on August 12 across offices and public spaces.
A presentation was given by Sub-District Police Officer Sentiwapang. The DC reminded Rural Development and Soil & Water Conservation departments to present in the next meeting.
In Meluri, the DPDB meeting was held at the DB’s Court, DC Office, chaired by advisor for New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe. After reviewing previous minutes, the Board recommended: creation of Assistant Commandant VG post at Phokhungri HQ; upgradation of SDAO (Agriculture) to DAO; upgradation of SDHO (Horticulture) to DHO; upgradation of SDO (PHED) to Executive Engineer and creation of Sub-Divisional Fishery Office.
A departmental presentation was delivered by Sub-Divisional Educational Officer Kaitunchap. Nyuthe urged all departments to safeguard their properties and maintain accountability.
