Mandatory attendance for I-Day celebration

In view of the 79th Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2025, Deputy Commissioners of Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Niuland, and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tening have issued circulars mandating compulsory attendance of all government officers and staff under their respective jurisdictions.
In Dimapur, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang directed all departments to ensure attendance at the celebration to be held at DDSC Stadium, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The directive, issued in accordance with the Home Department notification dated August 12, 2025, stated that attendance will be recorded during the programme and compiled lists must be submitted to the DC’s office for necessary action. Heads of Departments (HODs) have been instructed to ensure strict compliance.
In Chumoukedima, DC Polan John notified all officers and staff to attend the celebration at Samogooting Stadium. Departments have been asked to submit attendance records to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Hq) for onward submission to the Home Department.
In Niuland, DC Sara S. Jamir, in pursuance of the Home Department’s addendum dated August 12, informed all Heads of Departments, Heads of Offices, and staff that attendance marking will be mandatory. Attendance sheets will be made available at the rostrum and can be collected from Avonou Kire, SDO (Civil), Hq. The marked sheets, duly countersigned, are to be submitted to the SDO (Civil) for onward transmission.
Meanwhile, ADC Tening, K. Furhesie Nyuwi, issued a circular directing all officers and staff of departments under Tening to compulsorily attend the Independence Day celebration at the public ground, Tening town. Attendance sheets will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Peren, for onward submission to the Home Department.
All concerned have been instructed to comply strictly with the directives, reaffirming the importance of collective participation in the national celebration.
