Commissioner, Nagaland Gregory Thejawelie on Wednesday informed that the court of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dimapur, has cancelled the bail granted to the accused persons in connection with the Pimla murder case.
Informing this in an official communiqué to deputy commissioner Peren, Commissioner, Nagaland further said that the Commissioner of police, Dimapur, has written to the Director General of Police Nagaland, with a request to apprise the director, CFSL Kamrup (Assam), to expedite the expert examination process.
In this regard, the Commissioner requested DC Peren to convene a meeting with the civil society organisations (CSOs) and apprise them of the latest development. He also appealed to the Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) to call off the proposed indefinite protest. The commissioner conveyed that the state government was sincerely pursuing the matter and taking all necessary steps to ensure that justice was delivered at the earliest.
DC convenes meeting: DC Peren, Hiazu Meru, has convened a meeting to discuss the ongoing phase-II agitation relating to the Pimla murder case called by ZYON, ZSUN and Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation on August 21 at 11 a.m. at the DC Conference Hall.
DC has invited the following officials and tribal hohos/CSOs to attend the meeting– SP Peren; ADC Peren/Jalukie; presidents of Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation, Kuki Inpi Nagaland, Zeliangrong Baudi (N), Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation Nagaland, Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland, Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland, Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland and Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland.
