NSF general election to be held on Aug 29

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Election Commission has notified that the general election to the Executive Council and Assembly Executives of NSF for the tenure 2025–2027 will be held on August 29, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Conference Hall, Tseminyu Town.
As per the notification issued on August 20, 2025, the chairman of the Election Commission Neizokhotuo Belho said that counting of votes and declaration of results will be completed on the same day. The election shall be held strictly for the posts notified by the Election Commission for the tenure 2025–2027.
Further, the Commission informed that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will come into immediate effect from the date of issuance of the notification and shall be binding on all intending candidates and members of the federating units.
With MCC in place, the commission said that no candidate shall be a registered member of any political party; campaigning or canvassing by any political party in favour of a candidate is strictly prohibited.
Use of derogatory, defamatory or disparaging remarks against other candidates shall constitute a serious offence.
Circulation of concocted stories, unverified information or distortion of events against other candidates is strictly prohibited.
Use of loudspeakers or similar devices for campaign purposes is strictly prohibited.
Use of social media platforms for maligning, criticising, exposing private affairs or sharing objectionable images/videos of other candidates is prohibited.
It said that any attempt to influence voters by means of money, position, power or inducements shall constitute a serious offence.
Candidates shall be held responsible to ensure that their supporters do not obstruct or disrupt meetings or campaigns of other candidates.
Organising of public meetings by candidates during the Conference is strictly prohibited.
Electioneering or campaign activities during Conference hours/sessions is strictly prohibited and Election processions or demonstrations of any kind are strictly prohibited.
Further, soliciting votes or favours by offering alcohol, intoxicants or other inducements shall constitute a serious offence.
Intimidation, threat or coercion of any form shall amount to violation of MCC.
The notification stated that any violation of the above provisions would invite disciplinary action and/or penal measures as deemed appropriate by the Commission.
