Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) is set to hold its 31st general conference from August 27 to 30 at RSA Ground, Tseminyu, under the theme “Resilience in Transition.”
This was announced by central organising committee (COC) convenor K. Elu Ndang during a press conference held at the NSF office, Kohima, on Wednesday.
He informed that the upcoming conference would feature a panel discussion on the topic “Youth as the Bridge to Our Political Future”, hosted by R. Lungleng. Panelists will include Achumbemo Kikon, Nepuni Piku, Ningreichon Tungshang and Dr. Lanusashi Longkumer.
The introductory session on August 27 will be graced by MP Lok Sabha S. Supongmeren Jamir, while the inaugural session will be attended by Minister of Rural Development and SIRD Metsubo Jamir.
Other special guests expected to attend include MLA 47 A/C Karong (Manipur) J. Kumo Sha, NLA deputy speaker S. Toiho Yepthomi, IDAN chairman Abu Metha, MLA (Arunachal Pradesh) Laisam Simai, and SPDB chairman Ar. Jwenga Seb, who will serve as host.
NSF president Medovi Rhi informed that this year’s conference is being hosted by the Rengma Students’ Union. He said the launching programme will commence at 11:30 a.m. on August 27, followed by the introductory session at 5 p.m.
Co-convenor Kesosul Christopher Ltu called upon students to actively participate, stating that the theme “Resilience in Transition” reflects the generational challenges faced by youth in areas such as education, employment, skills, infrastructure, and identity. He emphasised that resilience must go beyond endurance, urging young people to stand firm in their values, resist complacency, and rise with purpose.
The conference will also witness participation from North East Students’ Organisation (NESO), Arunachal Students’ Union, Naga Students’ Organisation Myanmar, and NSF-affiliated units from Nagaland and neighbouring states. An estimated 1000–1500 delegates and officials are expected to attend.
The declaration of new office bearers for the tenure 2025–2027 will be held on the concluding day of the programme.
