Consumer awareness programme on Legal Metrology held at Phek

DIMAPUR

The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection (LM&CP), Phek, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Phek Government College, conducted a consumer awareness programme on the theme “Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection: The Journey Towards Viksit Bharat 2047” at the college campus on August 19.
According to DIPR report, delivering the keynote address, Er. Mecheitsho Koza, EAC Phek, highlighted the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and stressed the importance of consumer awareness in shaping a progressive society. He urged students to become ambassadors of consumer rights and responsible citizenship.
Panel lawyer Sekhotso Rokha from Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) spoke on consumer rights and the redressal mechanism through the District Commission. An interactive session followed, during which several queries from participants were addressed.
Assistant Controller, LM&CP, Phek, Shiekhozo, in his remarks, emphasized the role of Legal Metrology in ensuring transparency and fairness in trade practices.
Earlier, the programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Levinu Sakhrie, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator. The session was chaired by Neiwe Mereo, Assistant Professor and HoD, Economics.
Invocation was pronounced by Helika Shohe, Assistant Professor, English Department, while a special number was presented by Heveo Curah, B.A. 1st Semester. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Jonathan Kikon, Assistant Professor, Economics Department.
