In a major development, the council of Kilonsers, army wings, and secretaries of the GPRN/NNC (AB) convened an emergency meeting on August 20, 2025, and unanimously resolved to align with the original GPRN/NNC (AB) under the leadership of Francis Kikon.
According to a statement issued by the MIP, the meeting resolved to dissolve the faction led by S.S. Pongkhu and terminate his position as president along with Alo Yimkhiung, acting army chief, citing moral grounds, corruption, and arbitrary actions.
The termination was based on violations of Yezhabo Article 17, Clauses 21, 26, and 30.
The council alleged that the appointment of the general secretary was made without consultation with the Kilonsers and Tatars, and accused Pongkhu of running the government in a dictatorial manner, prioritizing personal interests over national cause. Further, the statement warned S.S. Pongkhu against using the name GPRN/NNC (AB) or collecting donations in its name from any government or private establishment. It cautioned that failure to comply would invite stern action.
The release also informed that 37 members have joined the original GPRN/NNC (AB) under Francis Kikon, including senior leaders and Kilonsers such as: Kitoho H. Zhimomi, Home Kilonser; Loketo H. Zhimomi, Chief Secretary; Akito Sumi, Deputy Kilonser; Kihovi Awomi, Tatar; Amen Walling, Deputy Kilonser; Jakugha Ayemi, Leacy; Kido Swu, Kilonser; Ikuto, K.U.T.
