Progressive Shuttlers to compete in Guwahati Invitational Badminton C’ship

Progressive Shuttlers Club, a Dimapur-based badminton club, is all set to participate in the Invitational Prize Money Badminton Championship 2025, scheduled to be held on August 23 and 24 at Noonmati Refinery Indoor Stadium, Guwahati.
The 12-member team, led by club president M Daniel Lotha, will be participating in the two-day event which brings together Shuttlers from Nepal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Kolkata, Assam, and Nagaland.
Speaking over the phone with Lotha, he said that the club’s participation was not just about competing for trophies, but was more focused on spreading the love for badminton and inspiring younger players back home.
“We want to show that Nagaland too can stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the region when it comes to badminton” he said.
He further expressed optimism by stating that participation in such tournaments would provide exposure and experience to the players.
It may be noted that along with the Progressive Shuttlers Club, another badminton club from Dimapur, Dimapur Badminton Club, is also participating in the invitational category.
The invitational badminton tournament is being organized by the Guwahati Badminton Club, the tournament will witness participation from players representing Nepal, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Kolkata, and Assam, in four categories.
