NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC holds consultative meet

DIMAPUR

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency held a general consultative meeting at Mangkolemba, during which officials for the tenure 2025–2027 were nominated. The meeting, chaired in the presence of Advisor for Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmenba, also adopted several key resolutions aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
In a press release issued by the NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC Media Cell, Advisor Temjenmenba expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and NDPP State president Chingwang Konyak for allotting him the party ticket to contest the 2018 Assembly Election. He recalled that despite starting his campaign only four months before the election and being relatively new to politics, he was able to secure a significant victory with the support of party leadership, grassroots workers, and the public.
Reflecting on his early years as an elected representative, he admitted to focusing primarily on development efforts and acknowledged that in doing so, some party workers may have felt neglected. However, he affirmed that nearly all units in the constituency have benefited from development works, and assured that the remaining unit will be addressed using LADP funds.
Describing August 23 as a landmark day for the constituency, Temjenmenba noted that the occasion marked the beginning of a new chapter with renewed leadership and a commitment to strengthening the party structure. He praised the Chief Minister’s efforts in advancing development and youth empowerment, referencing recent international collaborations including a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan, and state-level initiatives such as TFaMA and youth-focused sports development programmes.
Temjenmenba emphasized the importance of empowering party units at the village level, calling them the “foot soldiers” of the party who play a vital role in electing legislators. He urged party officials who are also involved in NGOs to clearly distinguish between their responsibilities in political and non-political roles to avoid conflict and support government initiatives effectively.
Addressing local issues, the Advisor acknowledged the lack of doctors, absence of key government officers, and poor road conditions in Mangkolemba Headquarters, and assured that these concerns have been taken up with the Chief Minister and Cabinet members and will be resolved during his current term.
One of the notable outcomes of the meeting was the endorsement of a proposal to organize a free medical camp at Mangkolemba, with the Advisor pledging full support to ensure its success.
In his presidential address, Aodangnok, who was re-nominated as president of NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC, called on all party workers to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the party’s renewed mission. He stressed that this was a time for rejuvenation, not complacency, and applauded the Advisor’s developmental efforts across the constituency.
Others who spoke at the meeting were NDPP secretary Mokokchung Region and In-charge 29 Jangpetkong AC, Lanumeren, working president 29 Jangpetkong AC, Imtiakum, president women organisation NDPP 29 Jangpetkong and president youth organisation NDPP 29 Jangpetkong.
