Impur Christian Hospital organizes seminar on Palliative Care

DIMAPUR

Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) organised a seminar on Palliative Care on August 22, at its facility, aiming to raise awareness about the holistic care of palliative patients. This initiative is in response to the growing need for better end-of-life care, focusing on both the physical and spiritual well-being of patients.
During a short exhortation, executive secretary, ABAM, Rev., Temsü Jamir, emphasized the critical role of palliative care in providing spiritual guidance aligned with God’s message. He highlighted the importance of extending proper care to palliative patients, even if one is unable to attend to them in person, encouraging attendees to use available media platforms to reach out and bring positive impacts in the lives of patients.
Resource persons, Dr. Obangjungla from Serene Palliative Care and IAPC North East Representative, and women pastor, Süngkomen BC, Amenla Asso, led the seminar. They addressed vital topics such as the concept of palliative care, its integration with spirituality, and the importance of communication and coordination in providing comprehensive care to patients.
A total of 83 participants from 15 churches and the final-year girls of Impur Bible Seminary (IBS) attended the seminar. ICH expressed its sincere gratitude to the churches and IBS for their active participation in this valuable event.
