Immanuel College (IMC), Dimapur, hosted a public demonstration of 5G use cases on August 25 at its 5G Lab, showcasing innovative solutions developed by students, startups, and tech innovators.
The event was organized under the project titled “Deepening of Scientific Research on 5G Use Cases for Solving Challenges of Society”, funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC), Ministry of DoNER, and implemented by NERCORMS in collaboration with Amantya Technologies.
According to a press release issued by IMC Media Cell, the demonstration aimed to highlight the transformative potential of 5G technology in addressing real-world challenges across sectors.
Chief guest, Dr. Soumya Chakraborty, Director-cum-Dean, Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Society, Kohima, spoke on the ethical dimensions of 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and emphasized the Northeast’s potential to emerge as a hub for technological innovation.
Guest speaker, Raj Narula, Founder and CEO of InCa Synergies, shared insights on entrepreneurship, underscoring the importance of communication, networking, teamwork, and strategic monetization of innovative ideas to solve societal problems.
Student teams and innovators presented working prototypes and solutions, demonstrating the wide applicability of 5G across domains.
A guided lab tour allowed participants to explore the infrastructure, while a networking session facilitated collaboration among students, startups, and industry stakeholders.
