Patton congratulates Wokha for PMMVY feat

DIMAPUR

Deputy chief minister and chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Wokha, Yanthungo Patton on Wednesday congratulated Wokha district for its recent achievements, including securing 1st position at the State level and 4th at the National level in the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) enrolment drive.
According to DIPR report, Patton, who chaired the monthly DPDB meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar and Superintendent of Police Relo Aye, handed over a certificate of appreciation to the DC on behalf of the Government in recognition of the milestone.
Patton also felicitated the Wokha Taekwondo team for clinching 3rd place at the Nagaland Taekwondo Championship held in Longleng and commended the coach for the team’s performance.
Briefing the members, DC Wokha and vice chairman DPDB, Vineet Kumar, highlighted the ongoing joint eviction drive and the measures taken to ensure that Naga citizens remain unaffected. He informed that the Government was maintaining close coordination with Assam counterparts and emphasized the need for sensitivity in handling border-related issues.
The House approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for 2025–26 and the registration of the Wokha CSR Society. Presentations on departmental activities and future plans were made by the Social Welfare and Urban Development departments.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the vice chairman.
