DIMAPUR

Councillor and member of the sanitation branch, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Nzanbeni Humtsoe, carried out an official inspection in Ward No. 16, Kevijau Colony, on August 30, to investigate the sale and distribution of expired food items and consumer goods. The inspection was conducted in collaboration with members of the Kevijau Youth Organization, led by its president.
The drive was undertaken in the interest of public health, hygiene, and consumer safety, and was both preventive and corrective in nature. Multiple retail outlets and local vendors were inspected, with spot checks conducted to detect and remove expired or unsafe consumables from circulation.
Vendors found in violation of health and safety standards were cautioned and advised to comply with relevant municipal and consumer protection laws.
The initiative aimed to ensure safer consumption practices within the community and to enforce adherence to existing regulations.
