State Red Run 2025 on September 6 at Sovima

DIMAPUR, SEP 2 (NPN)

The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA), will organize the State Red Run 2025 on September 6 at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima. The event is being held under the aegis of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The Red Run is a nationwide initiative aimed at raising awareness on HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), promoting healthy lifestyles and discouraging high-risk behaviours. Through youth engagement in physical activities such as marathons, the initiative seeks to foster positive behavioural choices and reduce vulnerability to HIV and other STIs.
The objectives of the State Red Run 2025 include enhancing visibility on issues related to HIV/AIDS and drug abuse, promoting safe sexual behaviour among youth, encouraging utilization of HIV/STI services, increasing basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS, and reducing stigma and discrimination.
Participants will include the top three male and female winners from all 17 districts of Nagaland, selected through the District Red Run qualifiers. The event also features an open category, welcoming individuals aged 16 and above. Interested participants can register by scanning the official QR code available on the social media handles of NSACS and Nagaland Athletics.
Event categories and prizes:
State Level – 10KM (Men & Women) 1st Prize: Rs. 15,000; 2nd Prize: Rs. 12,000; 3rd Prize: Rs. 10,000
Open Category – 10KM (Men & Women) 1st Prize: Rs. 15,000; 2nd Prize: Rs. 12,000; 3rd Prize: Rs. 10,000; 4th Prize: Rs. 8,000; 5th Prize: Rs. 5,000.
Guidelines for open category participants: All participants must report to the venue by 7 AM on September 6 for verification and bib collection. A registration fee of Rs. 200 is applicable and payable at the venue.
