CAG: Rs. 350.14 crore misappropriation, losses pending final action

DIMAPUR, SEP 4 (NPN)

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), in its State Finances Audit Report for the year ending March 31, 2024, has reported that 34 cases of misappropriation, losses, theft and defalcation involving Rs.350.14 crore were pending final action in Nagaland. Out of these, four cases involving Rs.25.76 crore are under trial in courts.
The report stated that 10 cases of losses due to theft, misappropriation and loss of government materials amounted to Rs.117.63 crore, of which Rs.5.81 crore has been recovered.
CAG noted that delays in final disposal were largely due to pending departmental and criminal investigations.
