Zebra crossing area used as bike stand

Commuters along Church Road, Holy Cross School junction and Traffic Point in Dimapur continue to face difficulties due to the irresponsible parking of two-wheelers directly on zebra crossings, obstructing pedestrian movement and causing inconvenience to road users.
The problem particularly affects students, as the stretch houses several educational institutions. With motorcycles lined up across the crossing, pedestrians—especially school children—are forced to step onto the busy road to navigate around the vehicles, putting their safety at risk.
Despite the zebra crossing being clearly marked, many two-wheeler riders reportedly disregard traffic rules and use the space as a convenient parking spot. A student heading to class said the blockage made it nearly impossible to cross the road during peak school hours.
Commuters sought the intervention of the Dimapur Traffic Police to ensure zebra crossings remain functional for pedestrian safety.
