Orientation on Kilkari mHealth

DIMAPUR

An orientation programme on Kilkari—mHealth Services for Better Maternal and Child Health Outcomes—was held at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Wokha, on Wednesday.
The programme was facilitated by Shanpanthung Ezung, State Programme Coordinator, KMA, ARMMAN, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, who served as the resource person.
Ezung informed that the Kilkari app uses Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology to deliver time-sensitive audio messages related to Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) directly to registered beneficiaries. He explained that once a beneficiary is enrolled through the Reproductive Child Health (RCH) portal, the data is integrated into the application, enabling weekly voice calls or messages.
He emphasized that increased awareness campaigns are essential to ensure wider public reach and added that block-level orientations in the district will continue till September 12.
The programme was chaired by District Programme Manager (NHM), Mhonbeni Ezung, who also delivered the welcome address. Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr. Thungchanbemo Ezung, gave a brief introduction to the Kilkari initiative.
