The Khezhakeno–Kikrüma Badminton Association (K2BA) organised its 3rd Open Badminton Tournament at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Kohima, on September 6.
The tournament drew an impressive participation of 60 players from both villages, competing across two categories, 28 players in the below-40 category and 30 in the above-40 category.
The event commenced with a formal inaugural programme, led by president Joshua Koza, with an invocation by pastor of CCRC Upper PWD Kohima, Müdohu Kezo. Advisor, Bizo Puro delivered words of acknowledgement, while Pfutsuvielo Ladu inspired the gathering with a special song.
The highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the address by the special guest, president of Kikrüma Association Kohima, Povezo Puro, who lauded K2BA for creating a platform that not only promotes healthy competition but also strengthens community ties through sports. After which he declared the tournament open.
Following the declaration of the tournament, a mixed doubles exhibition match was played as the opening event.

In the Under-40 category, the final was a thrilling contest where Kolo Chikha & Nuhütso Vero emerged as champions, overcoming a strong challenge from runners-up Velüo Tunyi & Mütü Puro.
In the Above-40 category, the experienced duo Ado Kezo & Kapulo Koza clinched the championship title, defeating Zhalie Puro & Joshua Koza, who put up a valiant fight to secure the runners-up position.
Later, the prize distribution ceremony was led by secretary, Zhalie Puro, followed by the declaration of lottery results and concluded with a prayer by treasurer Potsutso Thira.
The Association expressed gratitude to all participants, officials and well-wishers for their invaluable support in making the event a grand success. Such initiatives not only foster physical fitness but also strengthen bonds of friendship and brotherhood across generations.
