Government of India and NSCN-K (Niki) group have mutually decided to extend the ceasefire agreement with effect from September 8, 2025 for a period of one year i.e. till September 7, 2026.
NSCN-K (Niki) through its MIP stated that ceasefire agreement was signed with the Government of India in New Delhi on September 9, 2025. The NSCN-K (Niki) team was led by CFSB Supervisor Abel Zingrü Thuer.
MIP informed that the ceasefire extension document was signed by CFSB supervisor Abel Zingrü Thuer and CFSB Secretary Ameka Achumi representing NSCN/GPRN and joint secretary Prashant Lokhande representing the Government of India.
The document stated that ceasefire would be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules mutually agreed to and signed by the two sides.
Further, it stated that the Ceasefire Ground Rules would be subject to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties.
