A two-day training programme on Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (NSSK) was conducted for healthcare workers on September 9 and 10 at the conference hall of Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung.
The training aimed to equip participants with essential skills in basic newborn care and resuscitation to reduce neonatal mortality. Paediatrician Dr. Imlisenba, who served as the resource person, provided detailed sessions on delivery preparedness, infection prevention, neonatal resuscitation, breastfeeding, Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), immunization, and discharge and follow-up protocols. He also demonstrated procedures such as positive pressure ventilation and routine care for mother and child.
District Programme Officer (UIP&RCH), Dr. Limanaro, in her address, highlighted the importance of the training and urged participants to be attentive and proactive in acquiring the necessary knowledge to improve neonatal health outcomes in healthcare facilities.
