NLA dy. speaker attends 11th CPA Conference in Bengaluru

DIMAPUR

Nagaland Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker, S. Toiho Yeptho, is attending the 11th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference in Bengaluru, Karnataka, from September 11 to 13. He is accompanied by the Secretary-in-Charge and an official from the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
According to Khruohituonuo Rio, Secretary-in-Charge, NLA and Secretary, CPA India Region Zone-III , the conference was inaugurated in the presence of several dignitaries including the chief minister of Karnataka, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, and presiding officers from various State and UT legislatures. A guard of honour was accorded to the Speaker of Lok Sabha and members of the CPA India Region Executive Committee.
The conference, themed “Debates and Discussion in the Houses of Legislature: Building people’s trust, meeting people’s aspirations,” aims to strengthen parliamentary democracy and foster knowledge-sharing among member states. Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, is also a member of the CPA India Region Executive Committee.
India became the 9th region of the CPA in 2004, encompassing all 31 State/UT branches. The event continues to promote constitutional, legislative, and socio-cultural understanding across the region.
