The Wokha District Table Tennis Association (WDTTA) hosted the third edition of the Wokha District Table Tennis Championship-cum-Inter School Table Tennis Championship on September 12 at the Youth Centre, DBHSS Wokha. The event drew enthusiastic participation from local athletes and students, reinforcing the district’s commitment to nurturing sports talent.
Addressing the gathering on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, ADC Renbomo Ezung encouraged players to dedicate themselves fully to the sport.
He emphasized that excellence is built through consistent effort and perseverance, even in the face of limited facilities. Ezung also advised participants to focus on mastering a single discipline to achieve higher levels of success.
Organising Secretary James Ezung highlighted the championship’s role in providing a platform for young players to showcase their skills and build confidence.
He noted that the event not only promotes athletic development but also fosters camaraderie, sportsmanship and unity among participants. He reiterated WDTTA’s ongoing efforts to promote table tennis in the district and called for continued support and cooperation from the community.
The championship featured a range of competitive categories, including Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, Masters Singles and Doubles (Open), and Inter-School Team and Singles events for both boys and girls.
