The All Nagaland Shaolin Kung-Fu Association (ANSKA), in collaboration with Don Bosco Sports Academy, Dimapur Province, has announced the l participation of its athletes at the 4th South Asian International Games 2025, held from September 10 to 12 at Shankhadol Karate Academy, Jorpati, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Despite challenging conditions in the host country, the Nagaland contingent delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of eight gold medals across junior, senior and master categories in Shaolin Kung-Fu disciplines.
In the junior category, Saronthung Christopher Yanthan (Under-13, 45 kg) and Paramita Paul (Under-14, 55 kg) won gold in Kata, while Abdul Sahir (Under-13, 40 kg) clinched gold in Sanda.
The senior division saw Namlang Zeliang (Under-18, 50 kg), Nyurhunlo Kent (Under-23, 60 kg), and Ayhunlo Jude Khing (28 years, 70 kg) each secure gold medals in Sanda.
In the master’s category, Razouleu Caroline Sorunuo (Under-80 kg) earned gold in Kata, and Meyiesielie Albert Sorunuo (Under-115 kg) triumphed in Sanda.
The association expressed deep gratitude to the parents and guardians for their unwavering support and trust, which enabled the team to complete their assignment successfully.
Special appreciation was extended to Lady Deputy Grandmaster and Chief General (Honorary) Nono Teresa Sorunuo for her leadership in guiding the team to Kathmandu and ensuring their victorious return.
The association also acknowledged the spiritual support and blessings that accompanied the team, attributing the success to the collective efforts of all stakeholders and the guidance of Grandmaster Prof. Dr. Ketholezo Sorunuo.
