Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has reiterated that movement of all forms of traffic on NH-2 stretch, near Phesama, would be suspended between 10am to 2pm on all days to allow restoration and balance works.
In an order, DC Kohima also stated that in the event of heavy rainfall, movement of vehicles would be suspended due to risks of landslides. DC noted that there was constant violation by the military and para-military vehicles, resulting in traffic congestion and disruption of ongoing restoration works.
Therefore, DC reiterated that movement of all forms of traffic, including military and para military vehicles, would remain suspended from 10am to 2pm on all days, till further notice. DC has directed all responsible authorities to adhere to the regulations in the interest of safety and early completion of the restoration works.
