All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to minister higher education to disburse the phase-II Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) ST for the academic year 2024-2025.
In an appeal, ANCSU president Tenyesinlo Bukh and general secretary Kivinoka A Sema acknowledged the minister and department for engaging with the ministry and prioritizing the disbursement of phase-I PMS ST to 22,000 students in June 2025. However, ANCSU said the remaining students were anticipating the funds to meet their academic needs. It reminded that majority of students belonged to the economically weaker section and rely on those funds to pay their tuition fees, hostel fees and other essential academic expenses.
The union, therefore, appealed to the minister to immediately intercede with the ministry of tribal affairs for the early sanction and disbursement of phase-II PMS ST for the year 2024-2025.
ANCSU hoped that the minister would address the issue promptly. The union said that delay in disbursement of scholarship would only “invite retaliation” from the student community.
