Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Service Association (FONSESA) celebrated Engineer’s Day 2025 at the NPWD Conference Hall, Kohima, on September 15 under the theme “Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade.”
According to DIPR report, Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD, Er. P.I. Imna Ao, delivered the keynote address, commemorating Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya’s legacy as a visionary engineer and nation builder. He described engineers as problem solvers who transform challenges into opportunities and emphasised that modern engineering must integrate innovation with responsibility.
Highlighting global challenges such as climate change, resource inflation, urbanisation, and digital security, Er. Imna Ao stated that engineers play a pivotal role in developing sustainable technologies, smart infrastructure, and digital resilience. He urged engineers to embrace ethical leadership and social responsibility, reminding them that engineering is ultimately a service to humanity.
Er. Shiludi Longkumer, secretary general, FONSESA (APEN), presented a technical session on ‘Smart Prepaid Metering’ under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), outlining its objectives, system architecture, and benefits.
The programme was chaired by vice president, FONSESA, Er. Seyievizo Tsukru. President, FONSESA, Er. Fineson Pojar delivered the welcome address, while PRO, FONSESA, Er. Ekon Murry, proposed the vote of thanks. A special song was presented by Er. Lumchungla T. Sangtam, AOE, APWD.
