Kiphire conducts monthly DPDB meeting

DIMAPUR

The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting cum orientation programme for the Adi Karama Yogi Abhiyan (AKA) was held on September 17, 2025, at the DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer and attended by key district officials and stakeholders.
According to a DIPR report, welcoming board members, DC Longkumer reviewed the previous meeting’s minutes and discussed several developmental initiatives, including the registration of the SHE-BOX Portal, malaria and dengue fumigation efforts and the implementation of PM Gati Shakti. He emphasized the Ministry’s mandate to saturate five essential assets schools, hospitals, Anganwadi centres, roads and water pipelines—and urged departments to ensure accurate mapping on the Gati Shakti Portal. Departments were also asked to update their status with the MIS team for effective monitoring.
EAC Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen, highlighted the significance of the Adi Karama Yogi Abhiyan, a national movement initiated by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to build decentralized tribal leadership and governance. He stressed the importance of the orientation programme in empowering local tribal cadres.
Several officials including Junior Soil & Water Conservation Officer Shekimu H. Sumi, LDM Kevitsoto Stephen Chasie, ToT EBRC Atsaba Sangtam, PD (DRDA) N. Kupto Achumi, ZPGC Principal Dr. Phyobenthung, and DPO (LRD) P. Lipichem Sangtam shared insights and departmental updates. Presentations were also made by Lily O. Ezung (NSRDA) and Shekimu H. Sumi (JSCO) on their respective departmental activities.
In conclusion, DC Longkumer urged the RD department to identify households without job cards and maintain accurate MGNREGA beneficiary records. He emphasized transparency in rural development and reminded members about the upcoming Miss Kiphire Grand Finale on September 27 at GHSS Auditorium. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the chair.
