G&M deptt informs all drilling firms, agencies

Geology and Mining (G&M) department has informed all drilling agencies/firms, including manual hand-boring parties operating within the State of Nagaland, to obtain a permit and register their machinery and equipment with the directorate of G&M.
In a public notice, G&M director, Dr. Kenyelo Rengma, directed all commercial and industrial users of groundwater (such as water bottling plants, car wash centres, water parks, etc.) to obtain a permit for groundwater extraction from the department. One can get application forms from G&M directorate, Dimapur, during office hours.
The department has informed that registration process should be completed on or before November 30, 2025.
The department has cautioned that failure to comply with the directives would invite penalty or legal action under the provisions of the Nagaland Groundwater (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Rules, 2020.
