NSF Trophy: Wins for Phesama SU and CVYO

The ongoing 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy witnessed two competitive encounters on Friday at the IG Stadium, with Phesama Students’ Union (SU) and Chedema Village Youth Organisation (CVYO) registering victories in their respective fixtures.
In the first match of the day, Phesama SU edged past Corinthians FC 3–2 in a tightly contested battle.
The winning side drew first blood in the 10th minute through Neisaleto Kipu (8). Corinthians responded quickly with an equaliser from Thejaneilhou Mere in the 20th minute, before an own goal in the 46th minute handed Phesama SU the advantage. The momentum swung again when Corinthians’ Thejangutuo Pfüsenuo found the net in the 54th minute, levelling the scoreline at 2–2. However, Phesama SU sealed the win in the 67th minute through Theja Chuse (5).
Theja Chuse, who also scored the decisive goal, was adjudged Player of the Match and received the award from Neizokhotuo Belho, secretary, Steering Committee.
Match No. 11 saw Chedema Village YO put up a commanding performance to defeat Kidima Farmers United 2–0. Both goals came in quick succession late in the second half, with Lunminlal (10) striking in the 82nd and 85th minutes.
Manglienboi Neihsial (80) of CVYO was named Player of the Match, with the award presented by Asano Zashu, member of the Anchor Committee, 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy.
