The Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur hosted its annual Hymnal Competition on Sunday evening with the theme song “Scattering Precious Seeds.”
Altogether, Eight sectors participated in the event, including Town Area, Rilan & Mon, Kuda (Nagarjan), Burma Camp, Purana Bazaar, Notun Basti, LRFN (Lotha Colony, Residency, Forest, Nepali Basti), and Duncan & Court.
After spirited performances, Kuda (Nagarjan) Sector emerged as the winner, while Duncan Sector Lotha Baptist Church and Burma Camp Lotha Baptist Church secured the first and second runner-up positions.
Delivering the welcome address, Longshithung Patton described the competition as “more than a contest, a revival.” In his message, Pastor Lanlongo Yanthan exhorted the congregation from Malachi 1:6–14 and Malachi 1:2, urging believers not to limit their faith to seasonal practices but to live it out daily.
The programme was hosted by Chonpenthung Jami and Rhondeno Odyuo, with the judging panel comprising Thungchamo Ngullie, youth pastor, LBC Borlengri, Benchilo Kikon, youth pastor, LBC Chumoukedima, and Zubenthung Shitri, youth director, LBC Purana Bazaar. Yansaroni Shitri led the Bible reading, while pastor John Ovung offered the offertory prayer.
Special performances were presented by Symphonic Peers and Lanvan Patton, accompanied on piano by Chumchilo Kikon. The event concluded with a benediction prayer by Pastor Thenjamo Tsanglao.
