NSF Trophy: PLLA Mnp, MSU register wins

PLLA Manipur and Mao Students’ Union (SU) registered convincing victories in their respective encounters on Monday at the ongoing 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025, played at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
In match 14, PLLA Manipur outclassed Don Bosco Sports Association with a commanding 14–1 win. PLLA’s Hemgoulal led the scoring spree with four goals in the 12th, 52nd, 71st and 76th minutes. Nohminlen netted a hat-trick in the 43rd, 54th and 64th minutes, while Ngamkholal also scored three goals in the 57th, 84th and 88th minutes. Jangminlal added two goals in the 79th and 93rd minutes, with Joyful (15th minute) and Ngamminlal (75th minute) contributing a goal each.
Don Bosco managed to pull one back through Niamchuilung in the 80th minute, but the contest was already beyond reach. Jangminlal of PLLA Manipur, wearing jersey no. 17, was adjudged player of the match and the award was presented by E. Krelo, former executive of NSF and president of Mao Union Kohima.
In match 15, Mao Students’ Union overcame Meriema Youth Organisation (YO) with a 5–1 victory. Mao SU’s Lamminthang struck a hat-trick, scoring in the 10th, 43rd and 56th minutes, while W. John netted two goals in the 2nd and 40th minutes. For Meriema YO, Lalgamba reduced the margin with a solitary strike in the 47th minute.
Lorhii Kaisii of Mao SU, sporting jersey no. 23, was named player of the match. He received the award from Vilhousielie Kengurüse, former president of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU).
