Mokokchung district administration has issued a travel advisory for commuters in view of the prevailing situation in Jorhat district, Assam, and the ongoing blockade of National Highway passing through the area. Commuters travelling to and from Mokokchung are advised to avoid using the Jorhat route until the situation is normalized.
Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung AK Verma stated that the travel advisory was being issued to avoid any inconveniences to commuters and in the interest of public safety.
In addition, due to the deteriorating condition of NH-702D from Mokokchung to Mariani caused by incessant rainfall, DC has ordered restrictions on movement of all vehicles with ten wheels and above until further notice.
