The Niuland District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting on September 24 at the DC Conference Hall, Niuland, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman DPDB, Sara S Jamir.
According to a DIPR report, during the meeting, Jamir informed members that, following directives from Minister of PHED & Cooperation Jacob Zhimomi, the DPDB team will undertake field visits to schools and villages in the first week of October to verify the implementation of various development projects across the district. She urged all members to be prepared for the visitation programme.
The board also approved the conduct of seminars in all 103 villages of the district to sensitize the public on the roles and responsibilities of Village Council Chairpersons (VCCs), Gaon Buras (GBs), and Village Development Boards (VDBs). The seminars will also highlight the implementation of state and central government schemes at the grassroots level. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner directed all development departments to prepare PowerPoint presentations and ensure GPS-tagged photographs are captured throughout the programme.
During the meeting, Dy. Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Niuland, Bisinle Kemp, presented a PowerPoint on departmental activities. The Fishery Department was requested to present in the next DPDB meeting.
The session also included a review of resolutions and follow-ups from the previous meeting.
