The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA), a nationwide initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2025, is witnessing robust participation across Nagaland, with hundreds of women, adolescent girls and children attending special health camps organised under the campaign. The Abhiyaan aims to enhance health and nutrition among females, particularly pregnant women, adolescent girls and children.
PEREN: District Health Society (DHS) Peren conducted Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan Special Camp at CHC Jalukie on September 23.
A press release by DHS Peren stated that SMO, CHC Jalukie, Dr. Nitovi Shikhu, in his welcome address noted that the State and Central Government schemes introduced under this campaign were designed to empower women by ensuring access to quality healthcare and welfare benefits.
He also encouraged women to actively avail themselves of the services, emphasizing that these initiatives are not only for their personal well-being but also for the welfare of future generations.
The camps provide services under all vertical programmes, including anaemia and adolescent health screening, immunization, screening for NCDs, tuberculosis, vector-borne diseases, DISHA counselling and mental health support.
The special camp administered to 58 patients, where lab investigation such as Dengue, Scrub, Typhus, Mp, CBC, KFT, Urine, KFT, Hb, HIV, Help was carried out, Gynea, X-ray, Ultra sound, ANC check-up and dental procedure were also done.
The camp was led by SMO, Dr. Nitovi Shikhu, Dr. Ruokouvinuo Rachel, Dr. Ningai Rentta, Obs & Gynea, DH Peren, Dr. Dwalie Zeliang, Dr. Angukato Achumi, Surgeon, Dr. K. Ndang, Dr. Michael Tetseo, Dr. Gloria Thong, Dental, Dr. Ramheigun, nurses, lab technicians and vertical programme staffs.
The AHWC Pelhang SC also conducted a camp at Government Middle School, Pelhang, where 25 individuals received health check-ups. The event also featured awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene and anaemia, TB screening, and distribution of sanitary pads and Ayush IEC materials.
KOHIMA: Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima along with District Health Society, Kohima conducted Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan special camp at Sechu-Zubza PHC on September 24.
The special camp provided services under all vertical programmes – including Anemia and adolescent health screening for school children under the PHC jurisdiction, ANC screening, immunization, screening for non-communicable (NCD) diseases, tuberculosis, vector borne diseases. The special camp also provided DISHA counselling and mental health support with free distribution of medicines for the patient. A total of 171 patients received services with free laboratory investigation included – ANC check-up, ultrasound, X-Ray, Hb test, TB/HIV test etc and free distribution of IEC materials at the special camp. The camp was led by Dr. Petekuolie Yhome, MO (I/C), Dr. Ayo Thao, Obs & Gynae Viswema CHC, Staff of Sechu PHC and other vertical program staff.
A special camp was also held at Sakhabama HWC, led by MO Kezocha PHC, Dr. Vekholu Venyo, and senior resident, Department of NIMSR, Dr. Angvito Zhimoni. Nutritional packages were distributed to pregnant mothers and adolescent girls during the camp.
MOKOKCHUNG: The Department of Health & Family Welfare, Mokokchung has been conducting the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan campaign at 36 health units across the district till date and is scheduled to be conducted till October 2. During the campaign, services such as screening for NCDs, Oral health/Dental services, ENT, Eye, paediatric, Maternal & Child health, Ayurveda, Immunization services and awareness & behavioural change.
In parallel with the ongoing SNSPA campaign, the District RBSK team are rigorously conducting screening drive in the district across Government Schools & Anganwadi Centres, as a part of the campaign.
ASHAs & AWWs have been playing a vital role in community mobilization as well as patient guidance to the health centres during this ongoing campaign.
PHEK: Phek district is carrying out health campaign “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar” at District Hospital, at all the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) SC/PHC and CHCs the campaign. The Various activities is been carrying out daily providing different services to the community. The services include screening of women for NCD, TB screening, screening for anaemia, ANC, Immunization services, IEC & Community Engagement, AYUSH Service etc. All the vertical programmes including Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), RBSK are conducting SNSPA activities daily. The health campaign will be carried out in 60 health Units.
Meanwhile, Leshemi SC-HWC in Phek district hosted a camp where 25 individuals, including elderly women, availed health services.
TUENSANG: Speciality camp on Swasth Nari Sashakt Abhiyan campaign held at Community Health Centre (CHC) Longkhim, Tuensang district on September 24. Altogether, 108 people availed medical services including malaria screening, ANC check-up, HIV testing and anaemia screening during the camp.
Block ASHA coordinator (BAC) Longkhim block was given awareness on menstrual hygiene for adolescents. Sanitary pads and iron folic tablets were also distributed.
The medical team for the camp were Dr. Ayangla DPO (CD-1), Dr. Nungsang (Gynaecologist), Dr. Alemwapang (Anaesthesia), Dr. Senilo Magh (Psychiatrist), Dr. Kamhienou (Medicine), Dr. Bentilo MO PHC Angangba, NVBDCP, IDSP, DPMU, DAPCU and assisted by staffs of CHC Longkhim.
ZUNHEBOTO: The RBSK and MMU teams organised a health camp at GHS Shovishe Memorial School, Zunheboto Sadar, in Zunheboto district.
Similar camps were held across multiple locations including Homeland village in Niuland, various health units in Peren district, Hukphang SC, Yongam SC, Pongching SC in Longleng district, Good Shepherd High School in Kiphere district, Chekiye in Chumoukedima, PHC Singrijan, K Khuno in Phek district, Likhimro, UPHC Seikhazou, Vidima HWC, Lozatephe in Phek, and Mima HWC, Rusoma HWC, and Mewi School in Kohima district.
